Handy Hand Tools
Are you a handy man or handy woman? Do you like being well prepared for possible household situations where repairs are needed? If so, there is a variety of tools that every one should have at hand in a toolbox to meet the minor fix-it situations that can arise.
One basic tool is the screw driver. Screw drivers have a variety of tips including the star, flat head and Philips head models. Screw drivers come in a variety of head and handle sizes. The handles are non-conducting electrically speaking to eliminate the potential of shocks.

Another necessary tool is the hammer. Generally speaking, a claw hammer is adequate for most chores around the house. There are different size hammers. Carpenters usually prefer a sixteen or twenty ounce hammer for construction jobs. A homeowner will often find it handy to have a sixteen ounce and a smaller hammer for more delicate applications.
Add to your list of handy tools a standard adjustable pliers. These too come in different sizes but the important thing is to find a pair with rubber coated grips again for safety purposes.
Add to your list a measuring tape. These are made of a metal band that rolls up with the touch of a button. Inches and centimeters are clearly marked as well as fractional parts. A twelve foot or twenty foot measuring tape is adequate for most household jobs.
Finally a very handy tool is the crescent or adjustable wrench. An eight to ten inch wrench is adequate and is suitable for removing most common nuts and bolts on everything from lawnmowers to baby buggies. Finally, don't forget the toolbox itself.
